Dishwashers
When you shop for a new dishwasher, you can check the noise level of a dishwasher by its decibel (dBA) rating. The lower the number, the quieter it will be. Generally, standard-sized dishwashers run at 40 to 60 dBA. Noise over 55 dBA could interrupt kitchen conversations. Choose a model in the 40 – 50 dBA range if you want it to run softly in the background.
Laundry
Without proper care, odour-causing residues can form in machines over time. Help prevent it by using a monthly washer cleaner like affresh® washing machine cleaner.
Cooktops
Only pots and pans with a bottom material that attracts magnets, like cast iron, enameled steel or magnetic-grade stainless steel, will work on an induction cooktop. Pots and pans with aluminum or copper bottoms will not work. Tip: Test your pots and pans with a fridge magnet. If the magnet sticks to the bottom, they’ll likely work on an induction cooktop. See our handy guide to induction for more.
