What Are Laundry Pedestals?

The laundry pedestal is used under front loading washers and dryers to lift them off the ground and make loading and unloading easier. A laundry pedestal may also come with a drawer for storing your detergent and other laundry supplies.

There are laundry pedestals both with and without integrated storage, as well as pedestal washers with a smaller compartment for doing smaller loads.

The pedestals of a washer and dryer are generally between 10 inches (25 cm) and 16 inches (40 cm) tall. A pedestal’s height is affected by features like its brand, storage drawer, and washing function.
